About us

We are a software company that owns the hardware

GhostNode is a UK hosting company that came out of a software studio rather than a data centre. We had the tools first, and went looking for the hardware worth putting them on.

The origin

Where this came from

Most hosting companies buy the hardware and then go shopping for a panel to put in front of it. We did it the other way round.

Ryan

@Ryneide

Founder of GhostNode, and founder of Hydra Labs — the software studio this company came out of.

GhostNode was founded online by Ryan, who also founded Hydra Labs. That order is the whole company: the software expertise came first, and the infrastructure was built around it rather than the other way round.

What that merge buys is a more intelligent, performance-driven way to run a game server — one where the panel understands what is actually on the machine instead of being a set of buttons bolted to somebody else's API.

We are the new kid on the block, and we would rather say so. It is the reason none of this looks like everybody else's: there is no decade of legacy to carry and no acquired billing system to work around. Everything you touch is something we wrote, and can change next week.

Two disciplines

One company, built out of both

Neither half is bought in. That is unusual in this market, and it is the only reason the software can be this specific.

The software half

Banshee Panel is written from scratch, here. No white-labelled reseller front end, no theme bought off a marketplace, no third party deciding what you are allowed to see. When something is missing, the answer is a release rather than a support ticket explaining why it cannot be done.

The hardware half

High-performance machines, NVMe storage and low-latency locations, chosen for the games that run on them and nothing else. Priced to compete, because the software is what we expect you to stay for.

What that buys you

Software no other host has

Not a longer feature list. Three things that are only possible because we write the panel ourselves.

It reads your files

The editor does not just colour your server.cfg — it parses it, and tells you which line stopped making sense. A resource started twice, a bracket that never closes, a licence key still on the placeholder: found before a restart finds it for you.

It speaks your game

The panel recognises the framework your server runs and shows you players and characters rather than raw tables. Kicks and bans go to the running server, because a database row does nothing to somebody already connected.

It has brakes

The database editor is read-only until you say otherwise, and it dumps the table before anything destructive touches it — kept for a day, restorable in one click. Every query is written down, including the ones that failed.

Intelligent by design

Where the intelligence goes

A panel that tells you a server is offline has told you what you already knew. Ours reads what is actually on the machine and says something true about it — in two tiers, and never mixed up.

Problems are red and mean the file will not parse. Notes are amber and mean the file is fine and probably is not what you meant. Every one of them is a fact about your file or your server, never a guess about what you intended — and anything we cannot check for certain, we do not mention.

That is the bar AI has to clear here, and it is where we are taking this next: systems that read what you actually have and tell you something worth acting on. We build with AI every day. We are not going to bolt a chat box to a sidebar and call it revolutionary.

What is next

Game servers today. More than that shortly.

The panel was not written for one kind of machine. Everything below arrives as another line in the same sidebar rather than another company to sign up to.

More games

A new game is a config change here, not a project. That is deliberate, and it is why the list grows.

Soon

VPS hosting

The same panel, the same billing, the same support — around a machine that is entirely yours.

Soon

Discord bot hosting

Somewhere to put the bot your community already depends on, beside the server it serves.

More intelligence

More of the panel reading what you actually have, and telling you something worth acting on.

The company

A real company, in one country, with an address you can look up.

The fastest way to judge any of this is to see what the panel actually does. Every claim on this page is a screen you can open.
